Al-Sabeehi: Retirement bill totals 185M dinars for fair distribution
The social security retirees' salary bill for October amounted to approximately 185 million dinars, which has been transferred to the retirees' bank accounts. While this provides an economic boost, the biggest challenge lies in the fairness of salary distribution and ensuring social protection, especially given the significant disparities among beneficiaries; 9% of retirees receive no more than 200 dinars per month, while a similar percentage earn over a thousand dinars. Experts emphasized the need to implement mechanisms to regularly raise the minimum pensions to ensure retirees' dignity and achieve social justice, all while maintaining the sustainability of the financial and social systems.
