Vitikov to propose Ukraine peace plan
U.S. envoy Steve Wittekov will present Russian President Vladimir Putin with an updated proposal to end the war in Ukraine, in an attempt to engage Moscow in direct negotiations. This move comes amid American hopes that Putin will demonstrate greater flexibility regarding the resolution of the conflict, following Ukrainian discussions of new initiatives during talks in Oslo. Washington hopes that this proposal will facilitate the start of official negotiations to end the war, especially after the U.S. lifted sanctions on Russian diesel sales.
