Minister of Social Development, Wafa Binti Mustafa, affirmed that economic and social empowerment of families benefiting from the National Aid Fund programs is a primary priority within the social protection system. The approach is shifting from merely providing financial assistance to offering training, rehabilitation, and employment opportunities to foster self-reliance and improve the living standards of families. She pointed out that the program has graduated 73 trainees from vocational diploma courses in fields such as digital marketing, interior design, architecture, skincare and beauty, culinary arts, maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, and renewable energy. This was part of the Haj Anwar Al-Kalouti Grant for Vocational and Technical Education, implemented by Al-Afaq Charitable Society in cooperation with the Aid Fund and Jerash University. She explained that investing in education and vocational and technical training contributes significantly to empowering youth economically and socially, helping them acquire skills aligned with the labor market, and guiding them toward building an independent professional future. She emphasized that the grant reflects an effective partnership model among government agencies, charities, and the private sector, enabling beneficiary families to access sustainable employment opportunities or establish their own projects, thus strengthening their self-dependence. Additionally, she reviewed efforts to promote economic empowerment through the employment of 7,065 beneficiaries under the National Employment Program from July 2022 to July 2026. Among them, 5,123 have continued working for over a year, and the targeted employment rate is planned to rise from 7% to 15% by 2025, with 2,796 beneficiaries benefiting from specialized professional training programs. She stressed the importance of partnerships with charitable associations, civil society organizations, universities, and the private sector to expand economic and educational opportunities, aiming to achieve sustainable development and improve the economic conditions of beneficiary families. She reaffirmed the role of initiatives in supporting and empowering youth and providing suitable employment opportunities for them.
