Returned checks value rises to 134.4M dinars in September
The value of bounced checks in Jordan increased in September to 134.4 million Dinars, compared to 114.7 million Dinars in August, according to statistics from the Jordanian Company for Payment and Clearing Systems (JOPAC). The total number of bounced checks in September was 15.1 thousand, of which 61.1% were due to financial reasons amounting to 93.4 million Dinars, and 38.9% due to technical reasons totaling 41.1 million Dinars. Additionally, the number of checks in circulation decreased by 4.3% to reach 532 thousand checks, with a value approaching 3.8 billion Dinars, while the percentage of bounced checks from the total checks remained stable at 3.54%.
