Fighting in Bab al-Mandeb Saudi launches operation
Saudi Arabia launched a broad military operation targeting Houthi forces in the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait area in Yemen. Fierce fighting has been ongoing for weeks, resulting in the deaths of more than 63 people in the past 24 hours. The Saudi-led coalition confirmed the destruction of 136 Houthi targets, while Houthi forces repelled attempts by Yemeni government-aligned troops to advance. The region holds particular strategic importance due to escalating tensions in the Red Sea, with ongoing clashes aimed at regaining control of the strait, which remains under Houthi control.
