Oil dips as Trump delays Iran strike
Oil prices decline after Trump confirms the postponement of the attack on Iran until after the U.S. midterm elections. Brent crude dropped by 0.7% to $103.53 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate fell by 0.6% to $90.97. Despite this, Brent recorded a weekly gain of 4% due to previous increased attacks on oil ships in the Middle East. Trump stated that the United States is in constructive talks with Iran and that no attack will be launched before the November Congress elections, which has alleviated market fears of a potential military escalation.
