Southern Military Zone Foils Balloon Drug Smuggling
The Jordan Armed Forces, through the Southern Military Zone, successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of drugs across the border using guided balloons. Border Guard units spotted the balloons as they were trying to cross into Jordanian territory, engaged with them, and downed them inside the country, resulting in the seizure of the drugs payload. The confiscated items have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal procedures. The forces emphasize that repeated smuggling attempts and changing methods will not deter them from fulfilling their duties to protect the borders and confront illegal activities.
