Army halts drug smuggling via guided balloons
The Jordanian Border Guard forces succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle drugs via guided balloons, after detecting them while they were trying to cross the border into Jordanian territory. The balloons were shot down within Jordanian land, and the drugs on board were seized in cooperation with security agencies. The confiscated items have been handed over to the competent authorities for legal action. The forces confirm that repeated smuggling attempts and their various methods will not deter them from performing their duties in protecting the borders and combating illegal activities.
