Cybercrime Alert: Fast Money Ads Are Traps
The Cybercrime Control Unit warned against the spread of "quick money" advertisements across social media platforms, which exploit promises of rapid wealth to lure victims and steal their money and personal data. It emphasized that these ads, which claim that users can make significant profits within minutes by investing small amounts, use fraudulent tactics to persuade users to transfer funds or share banking information. The Unit also pointed out that a sponsored ad's appearance does not guarantee its credibility. It urged individuals to verify the licenses of financial companies before depositing money, avoid sharing card details or OTPs, and be cautious of falling into the trap of fake offers promising quick profits.
