Meretz: Russia not prepared for peace talks
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Russia's response to the meeting between the German and Russian foreign ministers demonstrated that Moscow is not prepared to engage in serious negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. He affirmed that Russia shows no interest in peace and that it will suffer significant damage if the conflict continues, while calling on the Russian government to return to the negotiating table. Meanwhile, European and German statements continue to affirm support for Ukraine, in contrast to Russian accusations that Europe is attempting to obstruct negotiations.
