Census start for population and housing
The 2026 Population and Housing Census has been launched in Jordan, running until October 31st. The first phase involves a self-enumeration through the electronic "Sanad" application from October 1st to 3rd, followed by field enumeration starting from October 4th with the participation of around 12,000 enumerators from the Department of Statistics and the Ministry of Education. The goal is to collect up-to-date and accurate data on all residents and housing units across the kingdom. A modern digital system is being used to ensure data confidentiality, which will aid in planning public services, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. This census is a significant step towards enhancing decision-making processes and identifying the actual needs of the Jordanian society.
