Matviyenko: We dismiss Western views on Russian elections
Russian Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko stated that Russia does not place great importance on the West's perspective regarding the State Duma elections, considering that what matters most is the Russians' awareness of their responsibility towards the moment and the electoral process. She confirmed that elections in Russia are a form of people's democracy and an opportunity for citizens to exercise their constitutional rights and express their positions. She emphasized that Russia's enemies will not be able to thwart the electoral process. This comes as the three-day election begins, part of efforts to strengthen the country's sovereignty and internal stability.
