Amman Municipality Advances Pavement Repairs
The Greater Amman Municipality has confirmed that it is working to improve sidewalks in the capital's neighborhoods to provide safe and connected spaces for pedestrians. This includes preserving green cover by trimming trees that obstruct pedestrian movement or may pose a public safety risk. Trees that can be relocated are taken to nurseries for replanting in suitable locations, while non-obstructive trees are left in place. The Directorate continues to plant around 125,000 saplings annually to enhance green spaces and improve the urban environment in Amman. This measure strikes a balance between pedestrian safety and environmental protection, aiming to make the city's neighborhoods more walk-friendly.
