Owono's Kick Explained
An animated reconstruction depicts the collision between FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono and CD Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel during a Spanish second-division match on November 2, 2026. De Miguel suffered cardiac arrest after Owono struck him while challenging for a ball and died the next day; Spanish police opened an investigation, though prosecutors said criminal proceedings may be unlikely. The animation does not establish the medical cause of death or criminal responsibility.
