Meet Chelisa Painter
During the Lakers–Kings game at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on November 4, a courtside spectator threw a ball at referee Chelisa Painter, who deflected it with her hands. Luka Doncic pointed out the spectator and checked on Painter; security escorted the fan from the arena. Painter, 34, was named a full-time NBA referee for the 2026–27 season on October 14.
