Medical experts discuss Jalen Hurts' blood clot risks
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss their upcoming game due to a small blood clot in his leg that has shown movement, prompting medical concern. After initial assessments deemed it safe for him to play, follow-up scans revealed the clot had progressed, leading the team to prioritize his health and exclude him from the Week 6 matchup. Medical experts indicate that while the clot is currently superficial, there is a risk of it advancing into deeper veins, which could require blood-thinning treatment and extend recovery time. The team has not announced a return date as doctors continue to determine the appropriate course of action.
