Teen's Mountain Trek Ends in Rescue
A 16-year-old hiker was rescued after becoming stranded at the base of the Widowmaker Arete in British Columbia. He had used an AI chatbot for navigation, which provided inaccurate directions, leading him into dangerous terrain. Despite being well-equipped, he was not prepared for rock climbing and had to be rescued after calling emergency services. The incident highlights concerns over reliance on digital maps and AI for wilderness navigation.
