Clay Travis discusses MAGA world and sports betting
Clay Travis’s new media venture, Sport & State, launched in August as a right-wing sports and culture platform seeking to regain influence lost to figures like Pat McAfee and Joe Rogan. The site mainly targets a loyal conservative audience, addressing topics such as college football, politics, and social issues, with a heavy focus on anti-trans rhetoric and culture war themes. Advertising and revenue rely on partnerships with gambling companies and Travis’s own businesses, emphasizing a self-referential, niche-oriented approach aimed at a core demographic. The launch underscores the stagnation within right-wing media amid declining influence and the failure to expand beyond its loyal base.
