Van Gogh Exhibit Before Private Sale
A painting by Vincent van Gogh, created in May 1890 shortly after his arrival in Auvers-sur-Oise, is set to be auctioned with an estimated value of $180 million. This work, part of a private collection held for over 50 years, is one of 12 impressionist and modern masterpieces, including works by Cézanne and Monet, being sold by Sotheby’s. The collection, regarded as nearly mythical in the art world, will be displayed publicly before the auction in November.
