Londoner’s fake vinyl empire exposes large-scale fraud
Rehan Ahmed, from West London, was sentenced to prison for producing and selling counterfeit vinyl records of major artists, including Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Kendrick Lamar. His operation, running under Phoenix of Vinyl and Paragon Music, involved producing fake albums seized during police raids, which found 15,000 records and equipment valued at about £1 million. The enterprise was part of a broader illegal industry exploiting increased vinyl demand, with authorities involved in multiple investigations and seizures of counterfeit items.
