MPs call for travel rights for UK disabled
UK MPs and disability advocates are calling for national guidelines to ensure disabled people requiring full-time personal assistants can travel abroad using their care funding. Cases have emerged where local care boards impose differing restrictions, with some prohibiting overseas travel support, effectively limiting disabled individuals’ freedom to travel. The issue highlights concerns over discriminatory practices and potential breaches of human rights laws, with advocates emphasizing the need for consistent policies to protect disabled people’s travel rights.
