U.S. stocks plunged Thursday after Democrats took control of Congress, amid concerns over tighter restrictions on AI data centers. The Nasdaq fell 5.46%, shedding $2.3 trillion in value, while the S&P 500 dropped 4.32% and the Dow Jones 3.45%. By contrast, Brent crude rose 3.88% to $98.29 a barrel, and U.S. crude gained 2.72% to $90.52, after fresh attacks on tankers in the Gulf revived fears of supply disruptions and an escalating confrontation with Iran.
