West Bank settlers target European convoy
Israeli settlers attacked a convoy of European diplomats in the West Bank on Saturday, assaulting the head of a French municipality who was visiting the area during the olive harvest season. Israeli Foreign Minister Yael Sawa condemned the attack; however, his statement came after unusual Israeli criticism, as officials expressed their denunciation of violence and the assault on diplomats. The incident occurs amid escalating tensions ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27, with the Israeli government supporting settlement activity in the West Bank.
