Dollar retreats but aims for fourth weekly gain
The dollar continues to gain for the fourth consecutive week, despite a slight decline on Friday, amid expectations of another interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve by the end of 2026. The Federal Reserve meeting minutes reaffirmed that monetary policy will remain hawkish to combat inflation, with a forecast of a 25 basis point increase in December. In the financial markets, U.S. bond yields declined but remain at elevated levels, leading to currency market stability and an overall boost in the dollar's performance.
