LNG Shipments Rise via Strait of Hormuz
Amid tensions in the Middle East, at least two shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) recently transited through the Strait of Hormuz, in an effort by Gulf producers to increase supplies amid shortages and a surge in prices. Satellite images show that transfers between ships off the coast of Oman have become more widespread, although the number of transiting ships remains below ten. This reflects efforts to boost shipments and mitigate the impact of supply shortages on the global market, especially in Europe and Asia. Previous attacks, such as an assault on a Qatari vessel, caused a significant halt in exports, leading to prices reaching their highest levels in more than three years.
