Syrian singer Assala Nasri had her jewelry box stolen from her room at a hotel in Detroit, following her final concert in the United States on October 31, 2026. She said the pieces included jewelry bearing her father’s name and image, gifts from her husband, children, and friends, as well as items she had bought to celebrate the success of her work—making the loss especially painful on a personal level. Police came to the hotel to investigate, but about a week later, Assala had received no new information about the jewelry’s whereabouts. She said she was determined to move past the incident and continue her artistic career.
