Salwa Al-Rahma urges living in the moment
Salwa Al-Rahma talks about her human experience with illness and loss, clarifying that her encounters with four cancer diagnoses and the loss of her husband prompted her to redefine the meanings of strength, motherhood, and humanitarian work. She considers that illness has neither defined her nor limited her ability to live and work, and that she continues to learn from her experiences without reducing herself to pain or diagnosis. The sudden loss of her husband overwhelmed her, but she learned that true strength comes from perseverance, and that motherhood is not merely a biological act but a spiritual responsibility and a genuine intent to give. She has focused on creating a lasting impact through community initiatives, believing that genuine humanitarian work is measured by the effect it leaves after departure. She sees that honesty and faith in one’s ability to give reflect the true strength of a person, especially a woman.
