Prince Harry Reflects on Princess Diana’s Perfume
Prince Harry confirmed that his late mother Princess Diana's favorite perfume helped him regain memories he had tried to suppress due to the pain. Breathing it in transported him back to a previous time and opened doors to blocked memories. Harry revealed that his mother's death in a car accident in 1997 led him to become withdrawn and imposed emotional restrictions on him, accompanied by feelings of guilt when he felt happiness after her passing. He indicated that rekindling the scent of the perfume allowed him to reconnect with his feelings and memories, helping him realize that holding onto them doesn't mean being trapped in grief. He also said that he still communicates with her spiritually and that she remains present in his decisions and thoughts.
