Hairdresser gets 5 years for wife threats
The Alexandria Criminal Court sentenced a men's hairdresser to five years in absentia for threatening his wife and her mother by threatening to publish private photos and videos of them while he was abroad, amid marital disputes. The details of the case date back to the security authorities receiving a report about the threats and the seizure of the wife's phone, as the defendant sent private photos and videos to pressure her into abandoning her legal rights, which led her to file a report about the incident. The court issued its verdict after confirming the threats and assault, with the tools used confiscated and the case referred to the higher criminal court. The ruling underscores the authorities' ongoing efforts to monitor cases of electronic threats and domestic violence.
