Couple forgoes gifts to raise $100,000 for children’s cancer
The article focused on the story of an American newlywed couple who, instead of traditional wedding gifts, raised $100,000 to support families of children with cancer by turning their wedding into a charity campaign for the "Little Heroes" foundation. The initiative was inspired by the groom’s connection to the organization, which had assisted his family during the suffering of his cousin Nathan, who was battling cancer and passed away after a long struggle. During the wedding held at Cleveland Zoo, half of the targeted amount was raised, along with additional donations from the community and organizations, reflecting the ongoing impact of humanitarian efforts. Two girls from the foundation participated in the event, and the couple expressed the importance of making their wedding an opportunity to help others, emphasizing that the donations would help lessen the burden of treatment for children with cancer.
