Rami Sabry Withdraws from Arab Music Festival
The article reveals that artist Rami Sabry withdrew from participating in the 34th Arab Music Festival after initially announcing his support for the Egyptian Opera House. His decision came in response to comments made by the head of the Egyptian Opera House, which he found to be inappropriate and contradictory to the stance of the artists. After publicly confirming his participation, he actually deleted his post and clarified that he was compelled to do so upon discovering backgrounds and statements from the Opera House chief that insulted artists. This prompted him to reverse his decision and to show solidarity with his fellow artists and musicians. Previously, he had expressed a desire to support the festival, considering it part of his artistic heritage, but he changed his stance after the statements led to tensions between artists, partly due to the festival’s financial crisis and the absence of many stars from attending. The article highlights the conflict between artists and the Opera House regarding crisis management and its impact on participation in the festival.
