Egyptian Heritage Icons Explored
The article focuses on the issue of the loss and dispersal of memorabilia belonging to Egyptian icons and celebrities, which are now appearing on sidewalks and second-hand markets, threatening Egypt's cultural and historical heritage. It discusses the importance of protecting these items, which include books about their personal notes and dedications from public figures, photographs, documents, and archives considered as valuable historical and social records. The article calls on experts to establish a dedicated institution or museum named "The Museum of the Eternal" to document, collect, and preserve the memorabilia of public figures and artists. The goal is to turn them into an archive and open resources for researchers and the public, before they are lost after the owners pass away. It also emphasizes the need for organizational mechanisms for proper management and accessibility, and recommends that the owners of such memorabilia transfer their documented possessions during their lifetime to safeguard the material and intangible heritage of Egyptian society.
