Dems doubt Schumer's role
Chuck Schumer is seeking to lead Senate Democrats after the party won a majority of at least 54 seats, but several colleagues are withholding support pending a debate over his plans. Chris Van Hollen called for caucus discussion, while Elissa Slotkin said she might run for the post and would not support Schumer without a plan for his first 100 days; Mark Kelly said he intends to back him. Schumer remains the favorite, with no declared challenger.
