Trump admin challenges Alaska election certification
The Trump administration has filed a federal lawsuit to prevent the certification of Alaska's upcoming Senate election if Republican Senator Dan Sullivan loses, citing concerns that a second candidate with the same name could confuse voters. The lawsuit requests a ban on certifying results if Sullivan's loss is within a certain margin, amid a close race with Democrat Mary Peltola. Previous efforts to remove the other candidate from the ballot were rejected, and Alaska's ranked-choice voting system may allow voters to select both candidates if unsure.
