Man Utd tactics after Fernandes critique
Manchester United's tactical approach has come under scrutiny following a 4-1 Champions League loss. Captain Bruno Fernandes questioned the team's defensive strategy, which relies on a less aggressive, zonal formation that allows opponents time and space on the ball, leading to vulnerabilities. This approach, contrasted with more intense man-to-man pressing used previously, has been less effective this season, exposing weaknesses in United's ability to defend one-on-one and maintain high-intensity pressing. The coach, Michael Carrick, defended the method, emphasizing effort and movement, but analysts suggest the current style is outdated and needs adjustment to improve results.
