Democratic organizer dismissed over foreign funding claim
A Democratic organizer was fired after claiming that Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is accepting overseas campaign contributions, allegedly violating federal law. The organizer, Abdoul Beckwith, told an undercover reporter that foreign donations to El-Sayed's campaign are not allowed, but his claims were denied by El-Sayed’s campaign and the Michigan Democratic Party. The race between El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers remains highly competitive.
