Florida executes 77-year-old for deputy's death
A Florida man was executed after being convicted of killing a sheriff's deputy during a 1986 incident. The execution, carried out via a three-drug lethal injection, marked Florida’s 18th execution of the year amid an accelerated pace overseen by Governor Ron DeSantis. Despite legal challenges to the method and concerns about the inmate’s military background, Reaves was pronounced dead following the procedure, which has drawn criticism for its execution protocols.
