Miss. man shot during home invasion

An elderly man was fatally shot with his own gun during a home invasion in Mississippi, where a suspect broke into his house, struggled with him, and obtained the firearm before shooting him multiple times. The suspect, who later died after shooting himself, is believed to have committed the burglary without a clear motive, though investigators are exploring whether his actions were influenced by mental health issues or possible symbolic elements nearby. The victim’s wife managed to escape and called emergency services, and the incident is considered to be a tragic and random act of violence.
