Uber prevails in £340m cab lawsuit
Uber has successfully dismissed a £340 million legal claim by approximately 13,000 London black cab drivers and two private hire firms, alleging misleading information was provided to Transport for London when Uber first received its operating license in 2012. The High Court ruled the case was filed too late, with claims considered time-barred, and did not examine the allegations' validity. The lawsuit, filed in 2024, sought damages mostly for lost earnings since Uber's licensed operation in the city.
