Olympic canoeist involved in Reflecting Pool controversy becomes Trump critic
David Hearn, a former Olympic canoeist, became a figure of controversy after being arrested and later acquitted for allegedly damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool during a protest against the Trump administration’s renovation plans. His case was dismissed after evidence showed poor workmanship rather than vandalism. Hearn has since become an activist opposing other Trump-led projects, including plans to transform a local golf course into a professional course involving significant tree removal.
