Hawaii's Kilauea erupts again after pause
Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano resumed its 55th eruptive episode after a two-month pause, beginning just after 3 a.m. local time. The eruption features lava fountains up to 250 feet high feeding a broad sheet of lava into Halemaʻumaʻu crater, with volcanic gases and tephra affecting nearby areas. The activity was influenced by recent earthquakes and magma intrusions, with USGS monitoring ongoing developments.
