AI hiring tools and bias prevention
AI hiring platforms like HireVue and Amazon’s Connect Talent are increasingly used by companies to manage large applicant pools and conduct initial interviews. While these systems aim to standardize assessments and reduce human bias, concerns persist about algorithmic biases, racial disparities, and discriminatory outcomes. Despite efforts to implement guardrails and anonymize data, evidence shows that AI can perpetuate existing biases and overlook qualified candidates, raising questions about the fairness and effectiveness of AI-driven hiring processes.
