Murdaugh's defense and prosecutors to clash over evidence
Alex Murdaugh is scheduled for a retrial on two murder charges related to the 2021 killings of his wife and son. The trial, set for April, follows the overturning of his previous convictions due to juror influence by a court clerk. Legal disputes are ongoing over evidence testing and whether prosecutors involved a grand jury to investigate a police officer connected to Murdaugh, with the case moved to a different county to ensure a fair trial. Despite facing a new trial, Murdaugh remains in prison, serving sentences for financial crimes.
