Keffe D gets 40 years for Tupac murder
Duane "Keffe D" Davis was sentenced to 40 years to life after being found guilty of first-degree murder in the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur. The conviction followed a three-hour jury deliberation and Davis’s previous confessions linking him to the crime, which was a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. Davis, a leader of the South Side Compton Crips, was involved in a retaliation shooting related to a confrontation involving Tupac and collaborator Suge Knight. The case marked the first conviction of anyone for Tupac’s murder, with Davis maintaining his innocence and planning to appeal.
