New island removal after Queniborough bus chaos
A newly-installed pedestrian island in Queniborough, Leicestershire, has been removed after causing bus access issues. The island's design made the road too narrow for buses to pass, leading to the withdrawal of services by Arriva Midlands. The county council plans to remove the island temporarily and redesign the junction to accommodate buses while providing a free taxi service to the nearest bus stop.
