AG Letitia James should recuse from Cornell case
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has called for a special prosecutor to review allegations by Jane Doe of being drugged and raped at a Cornell University fraternity house. Attorney General Letitia James, whom Hochul appointed, has publicly expressed sympathy for Doe but has not commented on the investigation, raising concerns about potential bias. Experts argue that the appointment has created confusion over whether James will conduct an impartial inquiry into whether criminal charges are warranted, amid political criticisms and calls for her recusal to ensure objectivity.
