Trump's claims raise election interference concerns
The article discusses concerns among Democratic lawmakers that the Trump administration is preparing to falsely claim foreign interference to influence the upcoming midterm elections. They fear the administration might use allegations of foreign meddling, particularly by China, to justify efforts to seize ballots or voting machinery, especially in closely contested races. Democratic officials are working to receive real-time intelligence briefings to prevent such interference and emphasize the importance of transparency, criticizing the administration for withholding threat information that has traditionally been shared with the public.
