Farwell trial jurors to decide on Sandra Birchmore
Federal court officials are beginning jury selection for the trial of former police detective Matthew Farwell, accused of killing Sandra Birchmore and staging her death as a suicide. The process involves screening potential jurors for biases related to sexual abuse, domestic violence, and mental health, with the jury expected to be seated by the end of the week. The case involves complex questions about Birchmore’s cause of death, allegations of Farwell’s sexual misconduct, and extensive media coverage, with testimony anticipated to last about a month.
