Yemen launches operation to regain Houthi areas
Yemen's Saudi-backed government has announced a major military operation to recapture territory from the Iran-backed Houthis, following recent clashes and attacks. The Houthis responded with strikes on Saudi oil sites, claiming successful attacks on Aramco facilities, amid ongoing conflict over strategic areas including the city of Taiz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The war, which began in 2014, continues to involve significant fighting and has caused a severe humanitarian crisis.
