Cornell seldom expels students in assault cases
The article examines Cornell University's handling of sexual assault cases, highlighting low disciplinary actions despite reports of increasing campus violence. From 2018 to 2024, Cornell reported over 1,200 incidents, but conducted formal investigations in fewer than 130 cases, resulting in only seven expulsions. Despite rising victim reports, the university's approach generally favors minor sanctions, raising concerns about campus safety and trust in the enforcement of Title IX policies.
